Today I Learned…

…that there is now confirmed evidence that a liquid lake exists on Titan, the most famous of Saturn’s moons.  The lake is not made of water — it is most likely filled with hydrocarbons — but it is still the first confirmed extraterrestrial body of liquid we have found.

Titan is the second-largest moon in the Solar System, behind only Jupiter’s Ganymede.  It is larger than Mercury, and has a thick atmosphere also composed of mostly hydrocarbons.  Check out more good facts about Titan in the original article from Scientific American.
